Snow again

Central Indiana has generally been spared the brunt of the winter storms the East coast has experienced this year. But the winter storm that moved 2,000 miles across the U.S. this past week has left it's mark. Even after a couple sunny days my neighborhood still had over an inch of ice covering the streets and drives. Thankfully the major roadways were quickly cleared of ice a couple days ago.

Yes, it looks like a skating rink. Treacherous to walk on but drivable. Nevertheless I was looking forward to going out today before the next round of predicted snow. Alas the snow arrived a day early, it snowed most of the day and more is expected over the next few days.

It will be interesting to drive over the snow covered streets with ice still hiding underneath. But it is still beautiful to view. Today's snow for example.

Books currently on the reading table:
The Amish Cook's Anniversary Book by Lovina Eicher and Kevin Williams - a collection from the Amish Cook newspaper columns and beautifully produced with the most perfectly appropriate photography. This is currently borrowed from my local library but is on my to buy list.


Journey to the Edge of the World by Billy Connolly -- I would have probably postponed looking at this book until I noticed the author's name. As a fan of Mr. Connolly's work his name made me look twice at this book on the library New Books shelf. It looks like a fun read of his travels.
