For months Indianapolis residents have experienced more infrastructure work as the city prepares for Super Bowl XLVI (Super Bowl 46). These are only a few images as the city begins the final touches.
Above is an early photo of the stadium where it will be held.
Below is one of many heated tents placed close to the stadium.
Workers on scaffolding apply a mural image on the JW Marriott hotel.
Banners are placed by the entrance to the Government Center.
Sidewalk accessible street maps available (notice light fixtures which are good for Indiana's gray winter skies).
Small sculptures placed in sidewalk flower containers.
The food vendor trucks begin arriving downtown.
Race cars next to Monument Circle (Soldiers & Sailors Monument in the background).
And a view of the large sign from the reverse side.
There will be much more activity than I will be able to provide but this is just a small taste of some of the preparations. So far is it appears to be very quiet but much activity is going on behind the scenes to prepare for visitors because Indiana wants to make visitors welcome in our own quiet way.

Thank you for sharing. I am from Indiana but live in Lexington, KY now. I hope all goes well this week. How fun.
