Winter is almost past as I write. Recently we have been enjoying sunny days and warming temperatures. But while out and about there have been some amusing and unexpected sights.
Like the pair of Canadian Geese standing on the rooftop of my neighbor's house looking as if they were watching for another pair to show up so they could move on to....
Or another pair of geese who were clearly challenging each other (males?) while a third looked placidly on.
Of course it is also that time of year when the school children start going on field trips, but that doesn't explain the 30 empty school buses that wandered past my line of vision in the early hours on my drive to work. Yes, I had to sit and wait for the very quiet group of buses as they passed. By the way, what do you call a herd of buses?
And let's not forget to congratulate ourselves for surviving the first week of the daylight saving time switch this year. This is still a relatively new experience to those of us who live in Indiana. Those who normally get in early to work have been commiserating in each other's grogginess and quietly cursing --certain elected officials-- those who thought we should be in the Eastern time zone when geographically we are better suited to the Central time zone.
